Day 21 - Canine

Colored-pencil-inspired Corgi Diva, at your service!  Tried to throw a hint of Marilyn Monroe in there because that’s who came to mind in the thought process of “Canine -> Corgi -> Fluffy -> Fur Coat.”  The idea to make it a corgi is largely Katie’s, but it also happens to be the weakness of, apparently, every single person I know, so hopefully I did your precious midget fluff piles justice.

I’m actually really happy with how this came out, especially the eye and such.  Was worried my inexperience with canine anthros would bite me in the backside here, but I’m of the opinion that I did quite well.

Commission for Zone of Tim’s RP character.  Wee!

Hiaté plays warm-up sketch subject.  Tried to make her look a bit older here.  Also wanted something flowy.  Did I do good?

Trying out this Colors! app on the Vita.  Most people use it on 3DS apparently, and it’s also on iWhatsits.

It’s Tenla, even if it started out not being Tenla.  Demo didn’t have layers and I didn’t have competence, but you can check out the process on the Colors! gallery right here.  It’s sideways because I’m the best at this and it blew your computer’s mind.  Or I chose wrong.  Whatever.

Probably gonna doink with the app more.  Seems like a mobile/handheld-based oekaki, really, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Random picture of Hiaté.  Thinking that if I’m redoing the site soon, I’ll want updated profile images.  That said, have a few things I’m not utterly thrilled with here, but, uh, passable?  She looks wonk to me, but it’s also the first thing I’ve given a crap about drawing for almost a week.  Erik’s thing was pretty whimsy fun-times, but this was SRS BUSINESS, mayhaps too much so and to its own detriment, but oh well.

Messed with shading techniques and how her feet are shown, and attempted a funky posture and angle.  So all things considered, I think I was kinda asking for something that lacked perfection.  Kinda happy with assorted bits of it, tho.

I’m cranky today, so have something adorable.

Temoya reading to Roxina or something.  Nobody knows who they are save like three people maybe, none of whom are on tumblr, so don’t try an figure it out, I guess.  They’ve been on my mind lately and they’re freakin’ huggable so here they are.

Chapter 1, Page 1 

Kinda wound up with a loose watercolor thing going on, and I’m okay with that.  The hatch shading takes longer than I’d intended to spend on these, but also tends to be pretty satisfying and not all that frustrating.  Cathartic?  I don’t know.

Will probably do a few more of these before demanding feedback or anything.  Odds are that the comic itself will wind up leaning comedy overall, but the opening couple pages are gonna be fairly straight-faced.  Sorry if that bothers you for whatever reason.
